Gothcore: On the heels of the pink resurgence comes the dark and mysterious look brought to the forefront by the Netflix series 'Wednesday' starring Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Christine Ricci, Luis Guzman and Gwendolyn Christie.
Ortega has been been stunning us with her marvelously monochromatic looks, a trend that we believe will continue into 2023.

Blond eyebrows have more fun!: Bleached eyebrows were all the rage with many celebs following suit. Willow Smith, Kim Kardashian, Julia Fox and Kendall Jenner all joined in on the trend, giving us the blonde brow treatment.

SCANDALS OF THE YEAR
Yeezy X Adidas X The Gap X Balenciaga: What started off as the holy grail of collaborations soon fizzled out by the end of year. Throughout Kanye West's most outspoken moments there still remained a cohesiveness between the brands to push out new collections as planned. Unfortunately, continued strains between the brands became too great for the partnerships to continue.
First was the fallout with The Gap due to what Kanye cited as lack of control over projects as promised. Before the breakdown a Yeezy Gap collection, engineered by Balenciaga, was released including the including the Yeezy Gap Dove Hoodie.
While the remaining brands persevered it was Kanye's anti-semitic comments that proved to be the proverbial straw breaking the camel's back of the partnerships.
First, Balenciaga dropped the artist in condemnation of his comments. Adidas soon followed suit after a 9 year working relationship.
With Kanye's breakdown with Adidas, the sports footwear company is now left with over $500 million in Yeezy designed shoes with plans to sell them under it's own name.
We'll see if 2023 can mend some broken fences for future collaborations.
Ads Gone Awry - Balenciaga and Benetton: After trying to distance itself from Kanye's drama Balenciaga was embroiled in its own scandal when sexually inappropriate ads were released combining children and bondage paraphernalia. The fashion house made a statement effectively blaming the production company and commencing litigation. After continued backlash for lack of accountability Balenciaga and Demna released their respective statements apologizing for its oversight in their approval process. The lawsuit was also swiftly retracted.
Benetton was the next fashion brand to be called out for their ads featuring children in underwear. The ads have since been since removed amid public outcry at their irresponsibility in the midst of Balenciaga's debacle.
PEOPLE WE'VE LOST
We also experienced some loss this year as the fashion world must continue without some of it's most prominent figures including Thierry Mugler, Andre Leon Talley and Vivienne Westwood.
PEOPLE ON THE MOVE
It was a case magical chairs as fashion houses shook things up a bit to recreative and redeliver the future of fashion.
