RICCARDO TISCI OUT, DANIEL LEE IN AS NEW CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER OF BURBERRY

After 5 years, Riccardo Tisci stepped down as chief creative officer of Burberry and Daniel Lee has now stepped up.

Tisci made his exit after his last runway show held in London. Simone Ashley, Daniel Kaluuya, Sabrina Sato and Milly Alcock were some of the stars that walked in the Burberry Spring Summer 23 show wearing his last collection for the fashion house.

Both Tisci and Burberry made the announcement on social media and confirmed Tisci "has decided to step down as Chief Creative Officer and leave Burberry at the end of this month."

Already reeling on the news of his departure, Burberry then promptly posted the news that Daniel Lee would be taking on the role. Riccardo also liked the post.

Lee's debut collection will be unveiled at London Fashion House Week in February 2023.  News had been swirling before that the company was conducting interviews for the new role, including Lee, in an effort to lead the brand into a new creative direction.

Prior to Burberry, Lee was the creative director of luxury brand Bottega Veneta from 2018 to 2021 and credited for its subsequent revival. He has also worked with Donna Karan, Celine, and Balenciaga, an impressive resume to say the least.
