Benetton is the next company getting a wakeup call on what is and is not acceptable when it comes to advertising clothes for children.
Known for being on the edgier side it seems the company has gone too far, posting children in their underwear. This picture was posted on Instagram in November before Balenciaga's mishap:
While calls were made online to remove the disturbing pictures back then, the brand seemed to double down a month later with a similar ad with both a little girl and boy openly wearing underwear.

The ads had social media reeling in disgust, some pointing out the company's long history with sexualizing children.
With Balenciaga facing very public outrage for their BDSM inspired ad with children, it's surprising Benetton did not feel the pressure to remove the offensive images from its own campaigns.
The pictures have since been removed but we have not seen an official statement from the Italian fashion brand.
